So Why Do So Many Choose Villamartin to Buy Their Property?
Villamartin is one of the larger municipalities of the Orihuela Costa, a haven for expats. Two of the focal points of this popular area are the Plaza and Golf Course which we touch on below. The main road takes you to Zenia Boulevard which is only a few minutes drive. This shopping complex is the largest of it`s kind in the province of Alicante. The Boulevard houses over 150 shops, bars, restaurants and even a casino. From here you are walking distance to the sandy beaches of Orihuela Costa.
There are many super urbanisations in which to buy your properties in Villamartin. Blue Lagoon, Los Dolses and Las Filipinas are three of the largest. Sevilla, Valencia and Pau 8 are also popular choices. Los Dolses is one of the closest to the Boulevard and beaches. Valencia is on the other side of the road but a few minutes closer to the Plaza.
Villamartin Plaza & Area Construction
The construction of Villamartin began in 1972 with some 1500 properties. These range from apartments, villas and townhouses as the area became more popular. The opening of Villamartin Plaza was 3 years later in 1975. This popular complex now houses many different bars, restaurants and businesses. Built around a pretty courtyard, the Plaza is by far the busiest place during summers. The complex also houses apartments which are popular with golf enthusiasts among others.
There are two major golf courses here which attract golfers from all over the world. Both Campo de Golf de Villamartin and Las Ramblas are championship courses. The former was host to the 1994 Mediterranean Open, won by José María Olazábal. Las Ramblas is another challenging course but there several others close by. Real Campo de Golf de Campoamor is only a short drive away. La Finca Algorfa is another super course some 25 minutes away. This super resort also boasts a luxurious 5 start hotel.
